The event took place at the Telford International Centre, and Stephen’s performance was nothing short of impressive.

Men’s Doubles Success

Stephen competed fiercely in the men’s doubles category, making it all the way to the semi-finals. His journey was marked by determination and skill, ultimately falling to the eventual Gold medalists. Reaching the semi-finals in such a competitive field is a testament to Stephen’s dedication and athletic prowess.

Mixed Doubles Highlights

In the mixed doubles, Stephen’s performance was equally commendable. He and his partner were on fire, even leading 7-0 against the team that would go on to win the Gold medal. Although they ultimately lost 11-7, their strong start and tenacious play were noteworthy and inspiring.

Pickleball is gaining popularity at an astounding rate. In England alone, it is estimated that there are around 30,000 pickleball players. Sport England’s Active Lives Survey supports this estimate, highlighting the sport’s increasing appeal. Since its launch, over 8,500 players have registered, and there are approximately 600 places to play listed on the club locator. The community and opportunities for playing pickleball continue to expand, reflecting its growing appeal.
