Find an available EV charger

Before setting off, simply open the Shell Recharge app. Drivers can check live charger availability, order and activate a Shell Recharge card, and manage all transactions in one convenient place, including EV charging, fuel purchases and convenience store spending.

Plug in and start charging

Once you have parked, simply connect the charging cable to your vehicle using the correct connector. You can then begin your EV charging session through the Shell Recharge app, with your Shell Recharge card from Fleetmaxx Solutions, for quick and convenient charging.

Recharging with Shell Recharge

Shell Recharge accommodates most EVs, featuring rapid 50kW and high-powered 150kW DC chargers compatible with a wide range of vehicle types. Connect via combined charging systems, CHAdeMO, and AC Type 2. Tesla adaptors are not supplied but drivers can use their own adaptors on the CHAdeMO connector.

Plug-in your EV:
Connect your electric vehicle (EV) to the charging point using the EV charging cable. Ensure the doors of your EV are securely closed.
Swipe your card:
Gently swipe your charging card across the reader. The light will change from green to blue to indicate that the charging process has started.
Charging Started:
Leave your EV connected and allow it to charge safely.

Swipe your card across the reader once more. The blue or green light will turn off, signaling the end of the charging session.
Unlock the cable:
Disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle and store it safely.

Shell charger indicator LED light meaning

Indicator LED light meaning:

None:
The charge point is not in use and is available for charging.
Yellow:
The charge point is waiting for action—either to connect your EV or swipe your charge card.
Green:
A cable is securely attached to the charge point, but it is currently occupied.
Blue:
The charge point is actively providing power to your EV.
Red:
An error has occurred. Try unplugging and re-plugging the cable or check the compatibility of your charge card.
