In this week’s “Meet the Team”, we are pleased to introduce our Whitstable office Key Accounts Manager & FORS Practitioner – Rachel Pearson.
Rachel specialises in helping businesses reduce running costs with discounted fuelcards, EV solutions, vehicle tracking & cameras, AdBlue® and business insurance solutions.
We sat down with Rachel to learn more about her passion for fuel cards and her love of George Michael.
On the spot questions…
- Where did you grow up?
I was born in Hartlepool, but I moved to Kent when I was 3. I then moved to Faversham then Canterbury at the age of 8.
2. What did you do before Fleetmaxx Solutions?
I worked at another fuel card provider for 13 years; before that, I worked for the Red Cross & various kitchen jobs.
3. How long have you worked for Fleetmaxx Solutions?
Since October 2020, it has been the best decision I have made in years! It was a risky move, but happiness and mental health always come first. Fleetmaxx has a great work culture.
4. Describe your job without using your job title?
I work with larger volume customers dealing with different challenges larger fleet operators face daily, and specialise in FORS accreditation.
5. What is the best advice you ever received?
Work hard, live your life & have fun! (from my Nan & Grandad).
6. What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love the challenge, fuel cards have a bad name in the industry, and I work hard to change that perception. I pride myself on going the extra mile and working extra hard to understand every aspect of the industry. And of course, fulfilling our customer’s needs!
7. What has been the most unusual day on the job?
That would probably be when I drove supercars at Silverstone a few years back – it was ‘unusually’ fun!
8. What three people, dead or alive, would you love to meet?
George Michael, Marlon Brando and Jason Statham!
I adore George, and I have been lucky to see him live. Marlon, to me, is a legend, and The Godfather is one of my all-time favourites. Jason would be brilliant on a night out; he would be a good laugh!
9. What do you do for fun outside of work?
I’m an avid cinema-goer & I attend regular spin classes. Plus, I like to hang out with our sassy black cat Farley who we rescued a couple of years ago.
10. You must sing karaoke; what song do you pick?
It is always – Tina Turner – The Best; what else could it possibly be?
