Every year, more than 1,700 people are killed on UK roads and around 30,000 more suffer life-changing injuries.
Behind every number is a family, a workplace, a community – and a tragedy that could have been prevented.
That’s why Fleetmaxx Solutions is proud to support Brake’s Road Safety Week 2025, taking place from 16–22 November, to raise awareness and take action for safer roads across the UK.
This year’s theme — “Safe vehicles save lives” — couldn’t be more relevant to the work we do every day with fleets large and small.
Who are Brake?
Brake is a UK charity that has been working since 1995 to stop the tragedy of road deaths and serious injuries, make streets safe and healthy places for all, and support people affected by road crashes.
Through education, campaigning, and victim support, Brake brings together schools, businesses, and communities to promote safer roads and to demand stronger action from policymakers and organisations alike.
Each year, Brake’s Road Safety Week becomes a nationwide event — uniting thousands of schools, organisations, and fleet operators behind one goal: to save lives on our roads.

What is Road Safety Week?
Road Safety Week is Brake’s biggest annual campaign. Since 1995, it has helped raise awareness about how we can all make roads safer — whether as drivers, riders, pedestrians, or passengers.
The 2025 campaign focuses on vehicle safety — how well-designed, maintained, and managed vehicles can prevent crashes and protect both drivers and the public.

What makes a vehicle “safe”?

Brake defines safe vehicles as those that:

These are all elements that work together under the Safe System approach – a shared responsibility between vehicle manufacturers, employers, drivers, and road safety professionals to eliminate serious injuries and deaths on our roads.
