These advanced chargers sit alongside Shell’s more traditional fuel and convenience offerings, giving drivers a glimpse of what the modern forecourt looks like—future-ready, flexible, and fully equipped.

A game changer for electric HGVs
In a major milestone for commercial transport, Shell recently launched the UK’s first dedicated charge point for electric trucks at Markham Moor Truck Stop in Nottinghamshire. This location, situated on the vital A1 transport corridor, now features a 400kW ultra-rapid charger built specifically for HGVs—and it’s powered by 100% renewable electricity.
Over 8,000 heavy goods vehicles pass through Markham Moor every day. Now, they can do so with the option of charging cleanly and efficiently, thanks to Shell’s forward-thinking infrastructure.
“The future of commercial road transport will look mostly electric,”
said Euan Moir, Head of UK Fleet Solutions at Shell.
“Providing a seamless charging experience for drivers is another step in helping transport companies continue to operate efficiently during the energy transition.”
