Fuel market knowledge, personal service and relationships that last
Known to customers and colleagues as Brad, Bradley Johnson is a Business Development Manager at Fleetmaxx Solutions with seven years of fuel card experience. His approachable, practical attitude helps him understand what each business needs and find fuel card solutions that suit how it operates.
You may also recognise him from his regular oil market updates on our social channels, where he shares what’s happening in the market and what it could mean for businesses buying fuel.
Finding the right fit for each business
Brad’s role involves managing customers’ fuel accounts, reviewing their vehicle and fuel requirements, and finding solutions that help keep their businesses running smoothly.
His knowledge of the fuel market, fuel card products and networks across the UK helps him assess which options suit each customer’s day-to-day needs. That starts with understanding how a business operates, where its drivers fill up and what challenges it’s facing.
Just as important is being someone customers feel comfortable talking to. Whether they’ve got a question about their account or a wider concern about managing their vehicles, Brad wants them to feel they can pick up the phone and have an honest conversation.
For example, if a business takes on work in a new area, its drivers may need access to different filling stations. Brad can review the available networks and help assess whether its current fuel cards still meet its needs. Our fuel station locator also helps customers check which locations are available along their routes.
Seven years of fuel card experience
Brad spent two years as a Sales Executive before moving into business development, where he’s built a further five years of experience.
Along the way, he’s earned recognition for his work, including a New Starter of the Year award in 2020 at a previous fuel card provider. At Fleetmaxx Solutions, he achieved three times his volume target within his first six months.
That strong start reflects the customer-focused approach he brings to his role: understanding what businesses need, explaining their options clearly and providing a service they feel confident relying on.
His experience has also taught him the importance of ongoing account management. As a customer’s business changes, its fuel card requirements can change too, making regular conversations and reviews a valuable part of the relationship.
The people make the difference
Ask Brad what he enjoys most about his job and his answer is straightforward: the people.
He values the lively atmosphere in the office, where colleagues keep each other in good spirits. But it’s the relationships with customers that make the role particularly rewarding.
“The office I work in is always lively, and the people here keep each other in good spirits,” Brad says. “A lot of the customers I deal with have become friends over my time managing their fuel card accounts. It’s genuinely a pleasure to do the job I do.”
That personal connection reflects the service we aim to provide at Fleetmaxx Solutions: someone who knows your business, understands your account and is there when you need support.
Keeping customers informed
Alongside his account management work, Brad shares regular oil market updates through our social channels.
These updates give businesses a chance to hear about developments in the market and consider how they could affect their fuel buying decisions.
They’re also an opportunity to start a conversation. If an update raises questions about your current fuel cards, Brad can help review whether they’re still a good fit for your business.

Away from the office
Outside work, Brad’s a big Marvel and Disney fan, and most weekends you’ll find him enjoying a film or heading out for food with his friends.
He’s also supported Liverpool FC since he was six, so he’s always happy to have a chat about football, especially the English Premier League.
Brad has used a wheelchair since a car accident at the age of six. In his own words:
“I live life to the fullest and show the world that people with disabilities are just like everyone else.”
And there’s one more fact you might not expect: he once appeared on a tattoo show on MTV. Which one? He’s keeping that to himself.
