Rachel has been our go-to FORS Practitioner for several years, and her recent success in obtaining this new Advanded FORS Practitioner accreditation is a testament to her dedication to excellence in fleet management.
What is FORS?
FORS, or the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, is an all-encompassing transport initiative designed to enhance safety, fuel efficiency, and environmental responsibility in fleet operations. As a voluntary accreditation scheme, FORS helps fleet operators improve their performance across these critical areas, providing valuable tools to become safer, greener, and more efficient. For businesses, being FORS accredited is a powerful way to demonstrate to clients that they adhere to the highest standards of operational excellence.
The new Advanced FORS Practitioner qualification
In response to the growing demand for advanced professional development opportunities in the fleet management sector, FORS recently introduced the ‘Advanced Practitioner’ qualification. This new certification builds on the well-established FORS Practitioner programme, which already has over 3,400 graduates and recently expanded with five new modules.
To attain the Advanced Practitioner status, fleet managers must complete all 15 training modules offered by FORS—five more than what’s required to become a base-level FORS Practitioner. The training covers a wide array of topics, including advanced risk management, sustainable fleet operations, and advanced driver training. These modules are specifically designed for transport professionals looking to further their careers, enhance their business impact, and reinforce their commitment to road safety, operational efficiency, and environmental protection.
